EFR’s Juvenile Delinquency Diversion program is a school and community-based initiative designed to divert youth from formal involvement in the juvenile justice system which often leads to punitive outcomes. This program promotes accountability, skill-building, and positive behavior change.
Chance for Change
EFR’s Chance for Change Program is a community-based opportunity for youth and a supportive adult to attend an educational workshop as an alternative to being referred to juvenile court services.
This restorative justice based approach helps keep students engaged in school, strengthens protective factors, and supports long-term success—benefiting youth, families, schools, and the broader community.
School-Based Diversion
EFR partners with high schools and middle schools – at no cost to them – to provide diversion services for code of conduct violations occurring on school grounds. Instead of traditional disciplinary responses such as suspension or referral to law enforcement, youth are connected to structured, supportive programming that addresses the root causes of behavior and reduces the likelihood of future involvement with the justice system.
