EFR’s Community-Based Services delivers a comprehensive range of prevention and early-intervention supports designed to strengthen individual and community well-being. The Community-Based Services department implements substance use disorder prevention, problem gambling prevention, suicide prevention initiatives, and juvenile delinquency diversion services, all aimed at reducing risk factors, building resilience, and promoting healthy decision-making.

Community-Based Services Programs
Prevention Services
EFR’s Prevention Services provide information and activities to reduce substance abuse and problem gambling in Central Iowa. Our prevention specialists educate, provide resources for, and engage with our local community to create healthier, safer, and more-informed environments.
Juvenile Delinquency Diversion
EFR’s Juvenile Delinquency Diversion program partners with schools to redirect youth from suspension, law enforcement, and the juvenile justice system by providing supportive, prevention-focused programming for school-based conduct violations that reduce recidivism and promote long-term success.
Community Health Promotion
EFR’s Community Health Promotion program partners with schools and community organizations to proactively support youth wellbeing by delivering prevention‑focused education, tools, and trainings that strengthen protective factors and reduce suicide risk.
