Mental Health and Suicide Prevention: The Conversation

Data suggests that a significant portion of employees have personally experienced mental health challenges or have supported loved ones who have struggled with mental illness or problematic substance use. Addressing emotional well-being can be a challenging and is often avoided. This avoidance can foster negative stigma, exacerbate stress levels, and contribute to a detrimental work environment.

This general education session aims to provide participants with a foundational understanding of some common mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and their prevalence. Furthermore, facilitated and guided discussions about suicide and risk factors associated with suicide will be provided. Participants will brain storm local resource options and be provided with approaches empowering them access care for themselves and provide support to others in their time of need.

  • Gain insights into the prevalence of mental health and addiction within our community
  • Identify common signs and symptoms of deteriorating mental health, substance use, and suicide indicators
  • Explore effective intervention and support strategies for addressing these challenges
  • Acquire knowledge of local resources and support systems that can be utilized for mental health and addiction assistance
